Michael Nother Memorial Hut - Restoration Update
Preserving an Alpine Legacy: A Nearly Completed Project

The Michael Nother Memorial Hut stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of Michael Nother, a beloved member of our community who tragically passed away in 1975 at the age of 27.
Built in 1977 by Jim Nother of Kurow, the hut has long served as a cherished gathering place for skiers and mountaineers alike.
We’re thrilled to share that the restoration project is now nearly complete! Thanks to your generous donations, our volunteers have re-clad and painted the exterior of the hut, helping to prevent further deterioration this winter and beyond. Every bit of this work was funded entirely by donations — thank you to everyone who contributed!
Over 200 volunteer hours have gone into the restoration so far. The dedication and skill of our team has brought new life to this alpine treasure.
Special shout out to Alpine Access for their incredible support and help throughout the project.
